[Osx-nutters] Help!

I am trying to reset the machine so that the fan kicks in before it 
(the ibook) starts to get too hot and in the hope that it will also get 
rid of a problem with the battery (behaving eratically - saying empty 
when half charged or charged when empty etc.,)
