I don't know anyone in NYC who walks less than probably 5 times as  
much as the average Los Angeleno, and that's WITH the subways, cabs,  
and buses. Hell, in LA, most people will drive around the block  
repeatedly until they find a spot 3 feet from the door of whatever  
place they are going to.
