I don't know history but I'll take a stab at this.
"The plan to transform Germany into a constitutional monarchy similar
to Britain quickly became obsolete as the country slid into a state
of near-total chaos. Germany was flooded with soldiers returning from
the front, many of whom were wounded physically, psychologically, or
both. Violence was rampant, with fights breaking out even between
rival leftist groups at funerals for leaders assassinated by right-
wing adversaries."

Perhaps if Germany's economy could have been saved and her people
supported enough, the conditions wouldn't have produced angry
fanatics who wanted to rule the world along ethnocentric lines.
When Saddam had become a liability for the USA, then by all means let
the USA assassinate him. But instead USA ruined Iraq and now the USA
doesn't know how to fix it. Does government intervention create a
healthy economy? No, that comes from the hard working people
themselves. They need incentives, and they need opportunities. And
now they have neither.
