Never heard of it.

I do, on the other hand, use "mad as a stick" and if the problem is  
exacerbated "as mad as a cleft stick".

It's "as envious as butter". Margarines and low fat spreads will also  
do, though generally whole-vegetable-derived spreads are frowned upon.

[1] as opposed to "the English" who can rot in hell. And yes, there's  
a certain amount of self-loathing in there....
