Thanks for the link, Kevin.
I wonder, though...
Five years later the space is empty because it took years to sift
through the rubble to find bones and other remains, right?
Five years later there's no memorial, but since when has our country
ever been able to select a design for and then build a major monument
in five years? And wouldn't we want to be sure that this memorial
in particular was done just right? I know an architect who said that
it would take a year to design a building or memorial.
And five years later there's no building rising, but a little later
he says "this country's mass grave is still unmarked." Isn't that
really the big issue that's delaying everything? What do we build on
a site that's a mass grave? A monument? A building? What? Do we
want to build on this mass grave site?

And last: to reduce the site of the WTC, with all of the deaths that
occurred there, to a "background for a photo op" is simply
despicable. I've never heard anyone speak so crassly, crudely and
shamefully for the sake of .. what? Political points? Slings and
arrows at the current admin? Often we hear the term "dirty mind"
thrown about jokingly when someone construes something innocent to be
something risque or even perverse. I think that Keith Olbermann's
special comment is evidence of his own state of mind. To me he seems
to be a man who is trying to defend his own point of view by using
hyperbole and misdirection. with the WTC site as a shield.
My .02
