Guy, you are (I suspect unwittingly) reinforcing my own point.

The points you make above are about the USA and Iran.

They are not about Bush and Ahmadinejad.

Let me explain...

I'm suggesting that the two men may well be very similar. I am not  
suggesting that the Iranian regime and the US regime are broadly  
similar. Though both are thoroughly dispicable, I am under no  
delusion about the fact that even under the Bush tyranny, the US is  
still a far more reasonable state than Iran. However, this in no way  
negates my conjecture about the two men. My point is that the  
difference between their respective social contexts (which you  
summarize above), may very well be masking strong similarities  
between the two individuals.

Well, apart from intelligence and eloquence. Bush is undoubtedly more  
strongly challenged in those departments.
