Here's another source of funding, and nice specific figures:

NIH spends 60 million annually on climate change and another 160  
million on health effects of climate change.

Compare that to just 70 million annually on inflammatory bowel  
disease, a rather horrid and chronic condition you wouldn't wish on  
your enemies.
