Here in Japan, if both spouses are consentent, it is only one form to  
turn in (rather easier than marriage itself, which requires a fre  
more papers), stamped with both parties' hanko and 2 witnesses.
I wonder how many people woke up one morning divorced… since only one  
spouse can go to the city hall to turn the paper in  and hanko are  
not difficult to get one's hands on (esp. if you live together!)
