Given how resistant so much of the country seems to be to federal  
interference, and how embracing of "civil liberties", I found the  
following remarkable:

	81% of Americans "believe that the government should have a role in  
addressing the obesity crisis"

This abnegation of personal responsibility is quite astonishing.
The simple fact of the matter is that for the vast majority of people  
there is (or was) a simple remedy, quite within everyone's grasp.   
Unless they're expecting US marshals to watch over the population at  
mealtimes and to force everyone to do a three mile walk every day?
