It must make hypotheses that are theoretically testable, even
if we are not practically able to do so currently.
Actually, my opinion of ID is that it has made such
hypotheses, and their predictions where found to be false.
And my opinion of string theory is that it is mostly somewhat
mediocre science combined with interesting complex maths, that has
hung around just because something better hasn't come along yet.
Maybe that surfer dude with the multi-dimensional object based TOE
will knock it off its perch, and theoretical physics will be more fun.
