I think it's quite simple: If BlueRay wins, then the PlayStation 3  
wins (and Xbox loses). So MS are doing what they can to attack  
BlueRay in order to derail PS3 as much as possible.

I.e., they're using their dominance in one market - and indeed their  
cash! - to dominate another market.
