This is the same paper that runs cartoons of Jews with bloody fangs
or looking like monkeys
so I doubt there was much irony intended. They freaking believe in
the The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
It's going to be very hard to break through that level of hatred and
ignorance.
I believe they mean it. It's that simple and every time we give
in to their seething and rioting all we do is teach them that
rioting is a successful method of intimidation.

So we should be afraid of insulting their invisible man so that they
don't riot? That would not be prudent with their culture.
The proper approach is to tell them to get their heads out of their
7th century asses and learn to laugh at themselves
but of course even that would cause more riots.
The majority of Christians I know can do that. I admit that I don't
know any that are whack jobs but still, the Danes and the French had
thousands of Muslims rioting. That is not an aberration, that is a
fundamental problem with the religion (as practiced)

Blackmail just pisses me off and makes me more likely, not less, to
push their buttons.
If they reacted the same way the Christians reacted to 'piss christ'
or elephant dung virgin mary, you know, a few peaceful protesters
and an angry letter or two
then that would be one thing. Going nuts is another all together.

Of course they did. The cartoons painted them as misogynistic
terrorists. (The misogynistic claim is simply true, terrorist
remains to be seen)
I think it hit a little too close to home..

I guess it's the reason behind it. If you are 'afraid' to piss them
off that's one thing and you might as convert now
because it won't get better when they demand that Sharia law is the
only law they recognize, or else...
If you simply choose to not piss them off because it's insensitive
(and it is actually) then that's another thing.
You still reserve the right to draw a line and say no more and no
further at a later date, assuming that you still can.
But IMHO, when someone publishes a cartoon and they riot, all they
deserve is more scorn not less and giving them a heaping helping
is the right approach. If every newspaper in the world had run the
cartoons then they would have been in a quandary no?
If the Christers started rioting and burning shit every time someone
(think of the posts on this list..) insulted them
then I'd feel obligated to make fun of them too. As it is. I just
leave them alone because even when insulted they just bitch a bit
and go on with life.
Imagine what the Jews would do to Jackie Mason if they behaved like
Muslims?
When there is a Muslim equivalent of Jackie then I'll think they are
'getting it'
